Hero of the Grange

I cannot thank the National Grange President Ed Luttrell and his Executive Committee enough for bestowing the honor of "Hero of the Grange" on me at the luncheon Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the National Grange Convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I don't think that I properly thanked Jennifer Dugent, Communications Director of the National Grange for nominating me for this honor. Thanks Jenn.
I am still overwhelmed two days afterwards. What an honor.

My son's wedding was today!

My son, Travis, married Becki Gotshall today! The new Mr. and Mrs. Meiss...

My son Travis' wedding in 4 hours

In 4 hours my son Travis and his fiance Becki will be married!!! Wedding is at Susquehanna Manor, a beautiful bed & breakfast in Marietta.

I think that means I must be getting old(er)....

137th Annual PA State Grange Session

All packed and ready to go. Plan to leave the house by 10 Friday morning to head to Johnstown, PA for the 137th Annual PA State Grange Session. Accuweather is calling for snow (6-10 inches Saturday night!). Hope to get to Johnstown by 1 p.m. Then plan to park the truck until I leave to come home Monday afternoon.

Busy Weekends

Well, tomorrow, the 10th we are helping Travis move from his apartment in Manheim to his fiance's house in Lancaster.

Next weekend I'll be in Johnstown, PA for the 137th Annual PA State Grange Session Oct 16-19. Unfortunately I'll just be getting home on Travis' birthday on the 19th.

Then the following Saturday, the 24th, Travis and Becki get married!

Life is busy...but GOOD!!

Archery Season Opener

Tomorrow is the opening day for Archery deer season in Pennsylvania. Getting all my gear ready. Sighted my crossbow in all week. Hope to be on the road to camp in Luzerne County by 4:30 a.m. Hope to have good news to put on blog by noon.
