Wisdom Extracted?

At 9:00 a.m. 3-18-2010 I went into surgery to remove ALL four of my WISDOM teeth. I hope they only pulled the teeth and not what little wisdom I had. Was home by about 11:00. Bleeding finally stopped around 4:30 but by then the numbness had disappeared and I turned to "Chemistry"! Was able to eat a bowl of soup by 5:30...first food since 11:00 last night!

  1. Wow. Almost a full week later, I still have pain, swelling and I still can't eat right without causing more pain and swelling. Go back to the oral surgeon on Friday. Sure hope he can fix me. This is a lousy way to diet!

  2. Got an appointment with oral surgeon a day early due to pain and swelling. Found I now have an infection in the jaw. Now taking Ibuprofen for swelling, Vicodin for pain and Penicillin for infection. Hope it starts working SOON!

  3. Damn! Got back from our National Grange media tour and had to call the oral surgeon again! He put me on more penicillin and gave me more Vicodin. I sure hope this infection is killed with this batch of penicillin. Getting tired of pain after taking my wisdom teeth which gave me no problems!

  4. Perhaps you need a stronger antibiotic. Sounds like you are resisting Penicillian.

  5. OK. Now I'm on my way to 5 weeks (come Thursday) and things aren't much better. Last week he put me on an additional antibiotic, Flagyl. Can't have ANY alcohol with it (not even mouthwash) and it's not doing a helluva lot. This is really getting frustrating. Another appointment this Friday.
